Assistant Professor

Dr. Shiao Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Fudan Development Institute, Fudan University. She holds a PhD in Public Administration from Tsinghua University and was a Postdoctoral Researcher at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. She also serves as a Visiting Professor at the Institute of International Studies, University of Chile, and has held visiting academic appointments and exchange collaborations with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD)and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia.

Her research focuses on area studies, with particular attention to Chile and South America. Her research interests include comparative political economy, critical mineral governance, and state–market relations. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has conducted extensive fieldwork in Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico.
