Sabina Insebayeva



Sabina Insebayeva is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tsukuba and an Associate of the Asia Research Institute’s Identities Cluster, National University of Singapore (NUS). Her research interests lie at the intersection of international relations, international security, and international development cooperation, with an empirical focus on Central Asia and East Asia. More specifically, she studies issues related to identity politics, power relations and security, and particularly interested in approaches rooted in social theory and historical sociology. Dr. Insebayeva’s studies and research have been supported by a number of non-governmental and governmental institutions in the United States, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Norway, and China. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Nationalities Papers, Europe-Asia Studies among others.
