Yahia H. Zoubir


Yahia H. Zoubir (PhD) is Professor of International Studies and International Management, and Director of Research in Geopolitics at KEDGE Business School, France.  He is also a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs. He holds a PhD from The American University in Washington, DC, with coursework at Georgetown University. He has taught at multiple universities in the United States, China, Europe, India, Indonesia, South Korea, and the Middle East and North Africa. His current research is focused on China and North Africa, Russia- North Africa relations, US policy in the Middle East, security issues in the Maghreb-Sahel, governance in North Africa, and health diplomacy. He is the author/editor of several books. In 2020, he published an edited book, titled, The Politics of Algeria: Domestic Issues and International Relations. In 2016, he co-edited with Gregory White North African Politics Change and Continuity. His most recent book is a 32-chapter volume he edited, titled, The Routledge Companion to China and the Middle East and North Africa. He is the author of dozens of articles in leading academic journals, such as the Journal of Contemporary China, Foreign Affairs, Third World Quarterly, Mediterranean Politics, International Affairs, Africa Spectrum, Journal of North African Studies, Democratization, Middle East Journal, Arab Studies Quarterly, Africa Today, Middle East Policy, etc. He also has numerous entries encyclopedias, such as the Encyclopedia of the Modern World, Encyclopedia of the Modern Middle East & North Africa, Encyclopedia of Nationalism, Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics and Religion, and the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of International Studies. He is a member of numerous academic associations.
