Daniel Mohseni Kabir Bäckström is a doctoral fellow in China Studies at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages, University of Oslo. He has a background in religious studies, China studies, and anthropology from Stockholm University. Daniel’s research interests include religion—especially Theravada Buddhism, ethnic minorities, Zomia studies, anarchism, the relationship between cosmologies/ontologies and ecology, and phenomenolgical approaches in anthropology. He is currently working on a project with the Blang on how people interact with things they cannot see or touch.
