摘要 | Abstract
This presentation discusses the new wave of development in the higher educational policies of BRICS nations, particularly Russia and China. Over different periods of time, both countries established policies which are designed to induce the creation of World-Class Universities (WCUs) and, through these, to boost the development of knowledge economies. However, following in a similar direction, the path to world-class education can often be different owing to the variety of cultural, political and economic factors, and also due to the strong presence of global international trends which nowadays have a profound influence upon higher education. I will show key features which unite Russian and Chinese policies and shall specify the role of the WCU within the context of the knowledge economy.
