Nathan Olivier Sperber
Assistant Professor of European Centre for Sociology and Political Science at Paris I University
Dr. Nathan Olivier Sperber is an Assistant Professor at the Political Economy, Political Sociology, Social Theory Development, European Centre for Sociology and Political Science at Paris I University. As a multidisciplinary scholar based in Paris, he holds an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS).
His research focuses on the intersection of international political economy, political sociology, and social theory. His work has been published in leading journals such as European Journal of Political Research, Contemporary Politics, and New Left Review. He is the co-author, with Dr. George Hoare, of An Introduction to Antonio Gramsci: His Life, Thought and Legacy (Bloomsbury, 2025; second edition). Beyond academia, he contributes public-facing analyses to publications like the London Review of Books and Le Monde diplomatique.
Dr. Nathan Olivier Sperber will be a visiting researcher at FDDI since March 15 2025.
