In an article published in theLaodong Daily, Xu YAO, a researcher at the Fudan Development Institute, and Li QIU, a master's student at Fudan University’s School of International Relations and Public Affairs, argue that the rapid and widespread application of artificial intelligence in fields such as education, healthcare, elder care, and urban governance has reached a critical juncture. Beyond simply ensuring technological leadership, it is now crucial to address the three major challenges posed by the implementation of AI: imbalances in employment structure, social governance, and ethical considerations. These imbalances significantly impact society, governmental governance capabilities, and social equity and stability. While the security of AI technology, algorithms, and models is currently a focal point, ensuring AI safety is not solely a technical matter but a significant issue concerning global governance and social ethics. The authors call for an accelerated restructuring of social governance frameworks to better respond to the impact of AI applications, creating systematic, forward-looking, and dynamic response mechanisms to balance development and security in the field of artificial intelligence. This approach is essential to effectively address the challenges AI poses to social governance.
