Karina Lilia Pasquariello Mariano is Full Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) - Araraquara Campus and at the San Tiago Dantas Graduate Program in International Relations (UNESP, UNICAMP, PUC-SP). She coordinates the Interdisciplinary Study Group on Culture and Development (GEICD) and the Jean Monnet Module - UNESP. She is also a researcher associated with the Observatory of Regionalism (ODR), the Development, International Politics, and Peace (DIPP) network financed by the CAPES Print project at UNESP, the National Institute of Science and Technology for Studies on the United States (INCT-INEU), and the Center for Contemporary Culture Studies (CEDEC). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1992), a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of São Paulo (1996), and a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the State University of Campinas (2001). She has been a CNPq Productivity scholarship holder since 2013. Her expertise lies in the field of Political Science, with a focus on Regional Integration, and she primarily engages in the following topics: integration theories, Latin American regionalism, Mercosur, NAFTA, European Union, international relations, trade unions, regional parliaments, and democracy.
