Recently, Argentina's President Javier Milei suffered a major setback in the Buenos Aires provincial election, while internal political tensions keeps mounting. In an exclusive interview with CBN's Financial Nightline program, shuo SHI, assistant researcher at Fudan Development Institute, pointed out that while Milei's economic reforms have yielded short-term fiscal gains, they have imposed greater living costs on working-class and low-income households. This has led to the major local election defeat and provided Milei's political opponents with an opportunity to unite in resisting his policies. In the long term, Argentina must reevaluate its position in global shifts, profoundly promote industrial reconstruction to build a sustainable economic development model.
