“SCO in an Era of Geopolitical Transformation” Symposium Held

On September 4, the seminar titled “The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in an Era of Geopolitical Transformation: Challenges, Reform, and Development,” was held in Room 203 of the Think Tank of Fudan University, jointly organized by the Center for SOC of the Institute of International Studies Fudan University and the Center for BRICS of FDDI.


Experts and scholars from Fudan University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Shanghai University of Political Science and Law engaged in in-depth discussions on the outcomes of the SCO Tianjin Summit, institutional reforms, and future development pathways. Among the participants, Associate Researcher Xu YAO from FDDI focused on digital economy cooperation, outlining the current state of SCO collaboration in this field. He emphasized that advancing cross-border data flow and artificial intelligence governance would be crucial breakthroughs for the SCO's future development.


Tianjiao JIANG, Deputy Director of the Center for BRICS of FDDI, summarized that the SCO is at a critical stage of institutional development. He emphasized that pragmatic cooperation and strengthening institutional functions are the cornerstones for transforming the SCO into an “action-oriented” organization.
