Abstract: As the profound changes unseen in a century accelerate, and the traditional international order exhibits disorder, dysfunction, and imbalance, the Global South is emerging as a key force driving world multipolarity. Against this broad backdrop, BRICS has achieved a historic expansion, setting off a BRICS fever worldwide. The crisis of the liberal international order and the collective rise of the Global South together constitute the historical context of Greater BRICS Cooperation, reflecting its epochal character, legitimacy, and necessity. As the first phalanx of the Global South, Greater BRICS serves as the bellwether for the economic development of the Global South, the vanguard for promoting reform, and the backbone for cohesion. It provides the material basis, institutional guarantee, and value guidance for the Global South to promote the reform and improvement of the international political and economic order. Overall, while Greater BRICS Cooperation has generated positive effects on the transformation of the international order in multiple dimensions, it also faces challenges from a series of internal and external constraints. Consequently, ensuring the security, effectiveness, and sustainability of Greater BRICS Cooperation will remain the focus of theoretical and policy research in the coming period.
