Assistant Professor


Dr. Geng Hong is an Assistant Professor at the International Governance Research Center of Cyberspace, Fudan University, and concurrently an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science, Fudan University. His research focuses on cybercrime governance and AI safety governance. He has published twenty high-quality papers at top international venues such as IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (IEEE S&P) and USENIX Security. He serves on the Program Committee of ACM CCS 2024 and ACM CCS 2025.


Dr. Hong is the principal investigator of a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Project, a sub-project of the National Key R&D Program, and several major research projects funded by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization. His research outcomes have been successfully deployed in leading companies and law-enforcement agencies, receiving important instructions from multiple central government leaders.


He is a recipient of the First Prize of the Shanghai Decision-Consultation Research Achievement Award, the First Prize of the Shanghai Technological Invention Award, the ACM SIGSAC China Outstanding Dissertation Award (only three recipients nationwide), and the ACM CCS 2018 Spotlight Paper Award, among others.


In teaching and student supervision, Dr. Hong offers the undergraduate general-education course “Introduction to Deep Learning”, and has advised undergraduate teams to win top honors such as the Grand Prize (National Special Award) in the Challenge Cup National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition, and the First Prize in the National College Student Information Security Competition.
