Assistant Professor

Dr. Zhang Yanren is an assistant professor at the Fudan Development Institute (FDDI). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Aberdeen, King’s College (UK) in 2013. Before joining the FDDI, he conducted postdoctoral research at the School of Economics at Fudan University and was funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Science and Technology to conduct visiting research at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and the University of Bergen.

Yanren's research focuses on applied game theory, behavioral contract theory and development economics, with particular interests in (1) Firm innovation and inventor mobility, (2) Dynastic management in family firms; (3) Micro-expression recognition in experimental economics; (4) Personnel mobility, social networks, and regional integration; (5) State capacity in quantitative econiomic history. His work has been published in leading economic journals, including Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance.
