From 3:00pm to 5:00pm of December 11, 2012, the Academic Seminar of the Research of Chinese Financial Market (ZEW) was held in the 711 Conference Room of the East Guanghua Building. The keynote speaker of this seminar was Michael Schröder, the director of ZEW (The European Economic Research Center) delivered a speech about “The Financial Market Research of China". This seminar was presided over by Doctor Xu Xian. Pro. Sun Lijian and some post-doctoral students as well as some doctoral and postgraduate students attended this seminar. 

In the very beginning,Pro. Michael Schröderlooked into the future of the cooperation between Fudan and ZEW and briefly introduced the content of the coming Index Prediction System established with the cooperation of Fudan. Then he made a short introduction about ZEW, a research institute founded in 1991. ZEW is an institute located in Mannheim, Germany. It has around 800 employees and over 120 researchers who had made contribution in different areas. The goal of this organization is to provide high quality application research, eco-political advices, young researcher training suggestions, public propaganda information and etc. A more detailed introduction was brought out in the following part of Pro. Michael Schröder’s lecture.

In the following question time, some students raised questions about the exactness of the Economic Prediction Index, which was thought to be a good by Pro. Sun Lijian. And Doctor Shen Yu also questioned about the Market Data Collection. A question concerning the acceptation of this Index in the German Market was also delivered. Comprehensive as well as detailed answers from Pro. Michael Schröder brought the seminar into an fruitful end.
