CALL FOR PAPERS
Young Scholars Conference:
“Social Sciences and China Studies”
May 20-21, 2016 | UC San Diego
The Fudan-UC Center on Contemporary China is calling for paper submissions from young scholars — Ph.D students up to associate professors — throughout universities and research institutions in China and North America. The conference will take place on May 20-21, 2016 at the University of California, San Diego campus. It will be co-organized by the 21st Century China Program.
The Young Scholars Conference is an annual event that brings Chinese and American scholars together so they can exchange ideas and share research findings. We especially hope that the conference will present an opportunity for the participants to build new synergies and develop future collaborative projects.
The overarching theme for the 2016 conference will be “Social Sciences and China Studies.” We hope to draw the best contributions from all social science disciplines that address critical issues in politics, law, economy, environment, media and information, and social change.
Accommodation
The Center will cover the travel cost for the paper presenters and provide up to three nights of hotel for those from outside of San Diego. In addition, the Center will subsidize the travel cost (up to $200) for approximately twenty UC Ph.D. students who wish to participate but are not presenting papers.
Submission
If you would like to present a paper at the conference, please send your submission as soon as possible, but no later than March 15, 2016 by clicking the botton this link follow the instructions. You will be notified by the end of March if your paper has been selected for presentation.
