the History of OBAOR is Misread

The silk road in the history was not built by Chinese or carried out by Chinese. It was only the abroad had demand for Chinese silk that the silk road came into being. Before and after 1860, German geographer Richthofen investigated in central Asia and put forward the concept of “silk road”. Combining the situation of the investigation and Chinese history, he put forward that in about 2nd century BC, there was such a silk road. Because silk is suitable for long distance transportation and profitable, so Richthofen named this road silk road. Actually, this road has never been established for trading and profit in Chinese history.
