Diego Vega Joins FDDI as Visiting Scholar

Diego Fernando Vega Cevallos is the Coordinator of the Specialization Program in Asia-Pacific Studies at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Ecuador. He holds a PhD in International Development from Beijing University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) and a Master's degree in Economics and International Trade from Shanghai University. His professional experience includes serving as Ecuador's Chief Commercial Consul in Shanghai and providing technical support to organizations such as the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).


His research interests center on digital governance and artificial intelligence in triangular cooperation within the Global South. He examines how algorithmic systems can lower the high transaction costs and institutional instability highlighted in his doctoral research on agricultural management in Ecuador. During his time at the Center for Global Al Innovative Governance (CGAlG) and Fudan Development Institute (FDDI), his work aims to develop smart governance frameworks that automate project approval, enhance fund traceability, and strengthen institutional technical memory amid staff turnover.


Diego Fernando Vega Cevallos will be a visiting scholar at CGAlG and FDDI from May 11, 2026 to June 9, 2026.
