Dr. Farrukh Khakimov is currently Head of Department at the Development Strategy Center (DSC), Uzbekistan. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Uzbekistan, as well as a joint Master’s degree from the University of Glasgow and Zhejiang University.
Prior to joining the DSC, Dr. Khakimov lectured at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and also worked as a research fellow at the Academy of Public Administration and at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Republic of Uzbekistan during 2010-2016.
Dr. Khakimov’s research interests include regionalism and regional integration in Central Asia, Central Asian geopolitics, digital transformation, digital governance, public administration, and digital government. During his visit to the Center for Global Al Innovative Governance (CGAlG) and Fudan Development Institute (FDDI), he will conduct research on AI governance, digital sovereignty, and China-Central Asia cooperation.
Farrukh Khakimov will be a visiting scholar at CGAlG and FDDI from June 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026.
