Fudan Institute on Ageing

Fudan Institute on Ageing (FIA) was founded in August 2021. It is the first academic entity on ageing research among China's higher education institutions.FIA integrates academic resources from the university's departments and faculties in social sciences and collaborates with Fudan scholars from the arts and humanities, science and engineering, medical studies, and public health. FIA focuses on five areas of research: governance on ageing society, development of Silver Economy, ethical and cultural issues in ageing, health and wellness of older people, and international comparative studies on ageing. With its Laboratory for Psychology and Behavioural Sciences on Ageing, FIA is committed to advancing research on ageing, providing consultation to public decision-making, cultivating interdisciplinary cooperation, and promoting partnerships among the government, industry, university, and research. FIA aims at establishing itself as a leading academic platform and interdisciplinary research team by formulating a China's approach to governance on ageing society and disseminating China's wisdom on tackling population ageing.
